Tecumseh council rejects proposal for temporary no-parking zone near busy intersection

A motion to explore temporary no-parking restrictions along Tecumseh Road near Lesperance Road, aimed at easing traffic congestion, has been denied by Tecumseh town council.

The proposal, tabled by Joe Bachetti, called on administration to investigate removing or limiting on-street parking near the intersection to create an extended right-turn lane and provide more space for vehicles to pull over during heavy traffic periods.

Bachetti argued the change would help reduce backups caused by ongoing construction projects in surrounding areas, including lane reductions at Banwell Road and the E.C. Row Expressway overpass.
